Abstract

Considering the social and environmental problems generated by the capitalist mode of appropriation of natural resources, with the advance of modern agriculture that despite the increase in productivity, also caused severe problems for ecosystems (erosion, loss of soil fertility, and decrease or biodiversity loss, soil contamination, water, food, greenhouse effect, destruction of the ozone layer, among others), putting at risk the sustainability of life on Earth. With the finding of the advance of globalization, poverty and the changes that take place in the world of work, has become urgent and pressing it to make a reflection on the training of Technician in Farming, in relation to the approach of environmental education. This study was conducted with the aim of examining how the teaching-learning process is being implemented in the context of the classroom. Ascertain whether there is an association between environmental education and technical training in a multidisciplinary approach that ensures not only effective training technique, but above all, the construction of ethical and moral values that subsidizes the sustainability of productive processes, with the anchor and the disciplines of Forestry and Environmental Education. It was used as a tool for collecting data regarding the teaching-learning process, questionnaires to teachers and students of the course, aiming to understand how environmental education is addressed in the curriculum and whether it occurs in an interdisciplinary context. There were also semi-structured interviews with producers and consumers of fuelwood, poles and charcoal-South Central Region in order to confront the environmental reality with systematic knowledge. Realizing whether the construction of knowledge by students enables him to act as critical professional and ethical in the pursuit of sustainable living in semi-arid. The analysis of data provided by students, with regard to the concepts of environment, environmental ethics and sustainable development, while under construction, are still considered vague and inconsistent. Concepts that are the foundation of human action and reflection on the construction of a more harmonious, just and sustainable society. It is salutary to observe, however, that teachers are aware of the need of overcoming fragmented and Cartesian training they have undergone. In this context, to ensure the full technical training to enable him to act consciously on socioenvironmental reality, the institution needs, as well as imparting technical knowledge, to propose to help him build his ethical, human and environmental formation, permitting a new look at the nature of man and society. After analysis and discussion of data, the most important conclusions that the research was allowed to do were reached.
