Um olhar para o desempenho de algumas escolas de diferentes sistemas de ensino da Cidade do Rio de Janeiro em avaliações nacionais de matemática

Abstract

This work has the general objective of investigating factors that can contribute to the good performance of students from educational institutions in the city of Rio de Janeiro in the national mathematics assessments (OBMEP, ENEM and IDEB). It is also intended to collect data on the schools best placed in these assessments; know the Career Plan linked to each education system in order to assess how the teacher is valued in the performance of their duties; obtain data that give evidence of the impact of family income on academic performance in these institutions; evaluate the importance of the physical structure of the school for the teaching-learning of students; to analyze the relationship between school structure (working conditions provided to teachers, student income, physical conditions of the institution) and performance in national assessments (OBMEP, ENEM and IDEB) by observing statistics from institutions in different education systems existing in the municipality of Rio de Janeiro. Based on the fulfillment of these objectives, we intend to answer the following question-problem: what factors can contribute to the good performance of students from educational institutions in Rio de Janeiro in national mathematics assessments (OBMEP, ENEM and IDEB)? This is a comparative study, carried out from the collection of data related to the characteristics of the schools with the best performance in the national assessments located in Rio de Janeiro. A documentary and bibliographic survey was carried out on the different teaching systems, considering their characteristics in relation to the Career Plan established for teachers; and field research to collect data on the socioeconomic conditions of the student body and infrastructure of the buildings of the analyzed educational institutions. The research corpus covers schools that have up to the 9th grade of elementary school and / or offer high school, considering different realities (private school, state and municipal public schools, and the military college of Rio de Janeiro). Due to the aforementioned research, it was possible to achieve the proposed objectives and to investigate external and internal factors of the institutions that contributed to a better performance of their students in the evaluations that were used as parameters
