Estudantes do Curso Técnico em Agropecuária do Instituto Federal Goiano/ Câmpus Urutaí - GO: formação profissional, condições de gênero e expectativas de futuro

Abstract

The general objective of this study is to verify how the girls and boys, who are attending the third year of the Técnico em Agropecuária course integrated at the Instituto Federal Goiano - Campus Urutaí, consider the professional future in relation to the expectations that the course gives, how to understand how the gender conditions are inserted in this formation process in reference of the professional expectations of each student regarding the future. The specific objectives were: i) to identify the reasons that guide the choice for the future professional in the field of agriculture for girls and boys; ii) investigate how conditions or gender roles influence agricultural technician training; iii) analyze how the gender roles of girls and boys are articulated with the training project adopted by the Institution; iv) map the expectations of these young people regarding their future after professional training and their relationship with rural identity and v) perform a critical analysis of the Projeto Pedagógico do Curso (PPC) to understand the general information of the course. In contemporary society, we understand that knowledge can be a differential in the relationships between individuals, cultures and social classes. The established assumption is that, in choosing their profession, rural youth are influenced by their parents who work in agricultural activities, the majority in family farming. Worth saying, that it is a qualitative research, whose method of data collection was the Case Study. It should be noted that age group of these girls and boys is between 16 and 24 years old. The application of questionnaires with open and closed questions was used. From the interpretation of the collected data and the bibliographic study, it was possible to understand the choice of these young people for the Técnico em Agropecuária course, as well as the education and life project of these students, in addition to identifying the perspectives of rural youth. We can conclude that the choice of the vocational training course Técnico em Agropecuária integrated at the high school happens specially to guarantee good performance in the Exame Nacional do Ensino Médio (ENEM), to get into to the college in the same area and to be more sure about the professional choice that will directly impact the professional future of these girls and boys.
