Abstract

The technology transfer offices are responsible for the management of innovation policy and have a series of competences among them, develop technological prospecting studies and competitive intelligence in the field of intellectual property. The objective of this research is to identify and describe how the technological information and technological prospection influence the activities of research, development and technology transfer held at Fiocruz from the perspective of the researchers. In this case study, researchers were interviewed to achieve the influences, motivations and barriers to technology transfer. The data were analyzed by content analysis and three categories have been defined. The categories listed contribute to identifying gaps that need to be overcome for the technology transfer process improvement. The prospection category presents the contribution of information technology to the activities. The culture and project management categories show what are the positive and negative influences for technology transfer and licensing.
