Educação infantil e família: estudo de caso em uma creche conveniada na Baixada Fluminense

Abstract

Case study at a "third sector" daycare center in Queimados - Baixada Fluminense during the years 2015 and 2016. The IENSA provides child education to 130 children from 02 to 05 years and 11 months of full-time modalities Kindergarten and preschool. With the analysis of the research data it was verified that the choice of insertion of a child in a day care center is due to personal issues and experiences. The interviews described the ambiguity between the need to work and the willingness to care for their children. The reports also highlight the growing phenomenon of female heads of household. The issue of lack of vacancies brings out some historically intrinsic relationships: child education such as the absence of parents, few State investments in this sector and the devaluation of professionals in this area, who are mostly women. Regarding this last point, we can not fail to emphasize that this service has obstacles and limits due to the gender issue. It emerged from the analysis that trust between family and institution is established with "time", in the process of sharing care, adjusting expectations and negotiating different conceptions, values and knowledge. As the research elements have shown, unconfirmed or uncontested conflicts can compromise the care of the child, who lives and understands when the differences between day care and family are sources of tension
