A oficina pedagógica como ferramenta didática para a aprendizagem em meliponicultura.

Abstract

The aim of this study was to evaluate the efficiency of the educational workshop as a teaching tool for stingless bees keeping. The research was conducted at the Instituto Federal do Espírito Santo (IFES), Campus Santa Teresa, from September 2011 to April 2012. The survey had as subject 17 students of the technical course in Animal Science, with male predominance (75% of the group), 10 farmers who were living around the school and 2 agricultural technicians as representatives of the public service from the county. The study was a quantitative and qualitative approach, in order to introduce the basics notions of keeping wild bees that included the topics of ecology and technology. The educational workshop was conducted into three groups of the participants and the presentations of the contents in seven blocks. Three subjects were submitted content simultaneously, lasting 15 to 20 minutes and obeyed to the rotation between groups. All lectures in the educational workshop counted with rich pedagogical material. To evaluate the research, the group answered a questionnaire before and after the workshop. Part of the answers was presented in the frequency range and part, in the form of scores using the performance index (PIBee), that was expressed also in exploratory analyzes of each phase of the educational workshop. The frequencies and the scores attest to the good performance of the participants, indicating that the proposed methodology provides better organization to the issue, the learning is conducted in a natural and conscious way, with the construction or reconstruction of knowledge. The join of theoretical with practical knowledge is brought into focus, and the exchange of experiences of the group tested allows rethink traditional teaching methodologies.
