Representações sociais do feminicídio em estudantes universitários e na mídia escrita

Abstract

Through a historical analysis we can notice the growing discussion regarding the rights and duties of the subject as being social outlined on a gender perspective. Although the Brazilian Constitution of 1988 establishes that all citizens have the same rights and duties, there is a different representation for men and women, which is effected through psychological violence to physical aggression against women, with the culmination of feminicide. Femicide is the violent death of women motivated by gender issues, results of an anti-female sexist terror motivated by a feeling of ownership, hatred and contempt of the man before the female figure. For this, we will use the Theory of Social Representations, created by Moscovici, where knowledge is shared socially to give meaning to social phenomena, formed by the knowledge of common sense and group sharing that result in the understanding of objects, people, situations with which one is not familiar. The method consisted of two studies: The first on the Brazilian media, through the analysis of two major newspapers of great circulation: THE GLOBE and LEAF OF SAO PAULO, in the years 2010 a 2018. For data analysis the software was used: IRAMUTEQ. And the second refers to the application of a questionnaire with 200 UFRRJ students distributed between the exact and human courses, which contain open and closed questions. The were closed questions were analyzed as an aid to the IRAMUTEQ software, and the questions open through Bardin’s theory. The data of this study reveal as possible central nucleus the elements death, chauvinism, violence, woman and aggression, these are associated with a negative feeling arising from a historical and social construct based on the chauvinism represented in the form of aggression and violence, and resulting in the death of women. It concludes according to the data obtained that there is still a long way to go through the adoption of governmental measures and daily practices that accompany a social restructuring that does not justify violence against women.
