Onde está o sujeito? Um estudo sobre a função desempenhada pela medida socioeducativa de internação na vida de adolescentes institucionalizados

Abstract

Far from being recent, crime can be considered as one of the most complex themes that involve life in society. The very concept of society, as well as the norms and laws created to enable and regulate social coexistance, went through and still go throug h transformations. When adressing the issue of socioeducational measures of internment, however, we are thinking about a recent strategy of how to approach juvenile delinquency. The observation of the increased growth of the adolescent population that is i nstitutionalized for the fulfillment of such measures and the need to discuss and rethink the arrangements thus far created to handle juvenile delinquency are the main factors that justify this research . Coming from the freudian psychoanalitic theoretical frame of reference, this study aimed at understanding the function performed by the court order of the internment socioeducational measure in the history of the adolescents in an institution of the city of Rio de Janeiro, intended for the enforcement of su ch measures. By adopting the hermeneutic perspective in qualitative research and the clinical qualitative research meth od, interviews took place with eight adolescents who were interned for the fulfillment of socioeducational measures and participant obser vation. The study of the life history of adolescents who were involved with criminal practices, as well as the meanings and functions given by the subjects to the fulfillment of the measure brought contributions to the reflection on crime among adolescents and the socioeducational measures system. With regard to crime among adolescents, aspects of their subjective constructions were observed in their relationship with the laws and the fulfillment of the socioeducational measure. As for the socioeducational system, there were indications of difficulty in complying with the specific court orders, being possible to point out possible strategies to overcome some of them.
