dc.description.resumoObjetivando-se diminuir o tempo entre amostragem e o diagnóstico das infecções por nematódeos gastrintestinais de bovinos, modificou-se a técnica de WHITLOCK (1959). A mudança básica consistiu na não utilização da bomba de pressão negativa para retirada do líquido na obtenção de ovos e do filtro de Buchner para a filtração da suspensão e na substituição do frasco usado por WHITLOCK (1959) por outro adaptado por nós. Essas modificações tornaram o processo menos oneroso e facilitaram seu uso na rotina laboratorial dando bons resultados devido à sua fácil execução. As larvas de primeiro estágio (L1), assim obtidas, podem ser identificadas em um período de tempo menor (24 horas) do que o utilizado para a larva infectante (7 dias). Preparam-se culturas puras e as larvas, assim obtidas, foram consideradas como larvas de referência para comprovar a identificação das larvas de culturas mistas provenientes dos ovos coletados nas fezes. 41 No presente estudo trabalhou-se com Haemonchus contortus de ovinos, Haemonchus placei, Cooperia spp., Trichostrongylus spp. e Oesophagostomum radiatum de bovinos, apresentando-se medidas e descrição das características, morfológicas.por
dc.description.abstractWith the objective of lessening the time between the sampling and diagnosis of infections due to gastrointestinal nematodes in bovines, modifications were made of the WHITLOCK (1959) technique. Basic changes consisted of the exclusion of the negative pressure pump, used in removing the liquid during the collection of eggs; the exclusion of the Buchner filter in the filtration of the suspension and the substitution of the bottle used by WHITLOCK (1959) by one adapted by the author. These modifications apart from reducing costs, gave good results under routine laboratory conditions due to increased simplicity. First stage larvae (L1) thus obtained may be identified in a shorter period (24 hours) than that needed for infective larvae (7 days). Pure cultures were prepared and these larvae were considered as "reference larvae" for the identification of 43 mixed cultures derived from eggs in faeces. In this study, observations were made on Haemonchus contortus (ovine), Haemonchus placei, Cooperia spp., Trichostrongylus spp, and Oesophagostomum radiatum (bovine), measurements and descriptions of their morphological characters are given.eng
