Avaliação do glutaraldeído a 1% no preparo do pericárdio bovino para reparo de parede abdominal de camundongos e influência do carprofeno

Abstract

Biological membranes has being widely used in reconstrutive surgery with the objective to reestablish the structure and function of injured tissues. Several treatments are applied to these membranes causing an expressive inflammatory response and rejection of the host, making impracticable the return of the normal function. This experiment aimed to evaluate the interference of the carprofen in mice that had received grafts of bovine pericardium (PB) treated with 1% glutaraldehyde in lateral abdominal wall. One hundred and two animals were distributed randomly into 12 groups and three types of treatments had been used: PB preserved in 98% glycerin and administration of analgesic tramadol, PB preserved in glutaraldehyde 1% and administration of analgesic and PB preserved in 1% glutaraldehyde and administration of anti-inflammatory. After 7, 14, 30 and 60 days of the implantation, the animals were sacrificed for collection and microscopical analysis of the tissue samples. The results showed reduction in inflammation in all groups after sixty days of implantation. There were no significant differences between different treatments. Thus, this study confirms the viability of using 1% glutaraldehyde in the preparation of bovine pericardium as an alternative to the use of 98% glycerin, however there was no advantage on the use of carprofen in relation to tramadol in post operative period.
