Dinâmica do desmatamento autorizado da Mata Atlântica no Estado do Rio de Janeiro

Abstract

In Brazil, the State may allow selective logging in areas covered with native vegetation or exotic request. Authorization of Removal of Vegetation (ASV) is the expedient adopted for that and it is regulated by specific legislation that determines the conditions under which the deletion can be performed as well as mitigation and compensation measures should be employed to ensure continued coverage forest and its benefits to society. In the state of Rio de Janeiro the ASV is granted upon approval of the State Environmental Institute (INEA). The main objective of analyzing the dynamics of deforestation in the authorized state of Rio de Janeiro. For this, a consultation process to permit removal of vegetation, issued by the environmental agency during the years 2007 to 2009. A from the analysis can compare the areas permitted for removal with the areas required to be reforested by the entrepreneurs meet the requirements of INEA under environmental commitment and the conditions of permits, including the main patterns and vectors of pressure on the vegetation of the Atlantic Forest. In the period studied were issued 42 ASVs in the state, 39 were analyzed, allowing the removal of 2336.84 ha of native vegetation, and 4141.12 ha was required as mitigation and forest clearing, which may contribute to a future for a crease to the remnants of Atlantic Forest state of Rio de Janeiro.
