Maracanã: espaço e representações entre torcedores de futebol

Abstract

This work was built with the relationship of football fans at the Maracana stadium as the main point. In the wake of the "modern football", that directly hit by globalization and commodification of cultural goods, we intend to identify certain processes and possible phenomena can affect the fan modus. One way is directly linked to the changes of space - whether macro or micro scale, the urban sports locus - propitiated and encouraged from major events. Thus we identify the entrance of the city of Rio de Janeiro in the "era of mega events," from the Pan-American games of 2007. Thus, the Maracana stadium - our physical clipping observation - has undergone significant structural changes over the years in every sporting mega event that housed. Therefore, in addition to a theoretical analysis that seeks to analyze the debate between the cities and mega events we try both the interviews and journalistic files our research field.
