Abstract

This dissertation aims to analyze the consequences of body stereotypes in the formation of adolescent identities, high school students from the Technical College of the Rural Federal University of Rio de Janeiro. For this research, analyzes were made of books and articles of contemporary authors who treat the body theme in Brazil, and a field survey involving nine students of the third year of high school of the Technical College of UFRRJ using for data collection , the methodology of the Focus Group. Data collected showed that the group has concerns with its aesthetic and atrelam to success and pleasure. They were about prejudice against the body that does not fit the fashion questions. They reported on bullying and judgment linked to appearance in the social wheels. The respondents were seeking their place in fashion and the approval of others. The group also showed awareness of the importance of exercise as health promoting factor, but also identified its relationship with the acquisition of successful body. As a result, we found that the body's exposure in daily life has been reversed in a consumer good, which invited the show, you are tempted by the organs of power to follow the fashion brochures. No doubt, interest in the success of the body has become an important goal in the modern era and leaves few outlets to think of an autonomous body future.
