A natureza na representação social de produtores de soja do Mato Grosso

Abstract

The soybean is considered at the present the great agricultural frontier of the Brazilian state of Mato Grosso and has been driving the social actors, wrapped in its culture, to enlarge further more the cultivated area, being thought, in this form, as the main responsible for the growing deforestation in the region. The present dissertation intended to understand, through field work and bibliographical research how nature is viewed and represented socially by the soybean producers of the state of Mato Grosso, the main social actors envolved in the process of production of the soy bean and also the main responsible for the deforestation in the state.
