Dimensões política e pedagógica da Etnomatemática na Escola do Distrito Praça Rica no Município de Vila Pavão - ES

Abstract

This dissertation is a research work developed at the Artur Pagung Municipal Center for Agroecological Education located in Praça Rica district, municipality of Vila Pavão, in the Espírito Santo State, Brazil. The research led us to reflect, to experience ETHNO-MATHEMA-TICS in its dimensions. The main goal of the research was to analyze the relationship between school mathematics and the daily knowledge of rural workers with a view to the political and pedagogical dimensions of ethnomathematics. The methodology that guides the investigation is qualitative research, and were used the following procedures: semi-structured interviews, questionnaires, field diary, participant observation, videos, photographs and conversation circles. We interviewed students, former students, teachers, school direction and rural workers (parents or guardians of students from educational institution), with whom we highlighted mathematical knowledge objects. The results of the research stages presented by the collaborators lead us to the ideals of values, of the evolution in the educational journey, of the importance and understandings of objects of the knowledge of mathematics, which sustain and praise the practices, the human experiences, in the context from inside (school) to outside (family and community) and from outside (family and community) to inside (school).
