A reestruturação territorial- produtiva de Itaguaí: ascensão e crise de uma cidade-símbolo do novo desenvolvimentismo fluminense

Abstract

In the course of this decade, the city of Itaguaí began to reconfigure itself as a pole of economic development; Either because it is the seat of the Port of Itaguaí (formerly Sepetiba) - responsible for the outflow of production in much of the state of Rio de Janeiro - or for the recent establishment of industries within its limits (and the contiguous neighborhood of Santa Cruz). The territory of Itaguaí has thus become significant with regard to numerous socio-spatial impacts and urban-productive changes. The present research has the pretensions of evaluating the process of territorial-productive restructuring - characterizing the current productive scenario - and its reflection, its marks, in such a defined spatial cut, considering the temporal cut from the government of Luiz Inácio Lula Da Silva, of his "new developmentalism". A period in which the State started to act with greater force, emerging from this an economic model with new productive bases, with the attempt to dynamize the industrial policy, and thus presenting greater intervention and economic regulation of the State, implying new actors and New dynamics from the resumption of developmental thinking. It is a period in which the state demonstrates itself as developmentalist, but with neoliberal ties. Itaguaí began to enter into one of the territories action to encompass the processes intrinsic to the objectives engendered by the return of the role of the State with the problem of development. Therefore, it is essential to state the marks of the "new developmentalism" that are present in the respective spatial clipping and of how this is only the locus of concentration of activities stimulated by a political-economic “project” initiated after the Lula government, which It concretely moves away from an articulation with the sphere of local administration, not taking into account the ties, the webs of relations present in the territory.
