A Educação Ambiental como forma de desenvolver a cidadania: investigação sobre a percepção ambiental dos estudantes do curso Técnico em Enologia do IFRS – Bento Gonçalves (RS)

Abstract

This qualitative work is the result of a study with two enology groups from the Federal Institute of Rio Grande do Sul (IFRS) in the city of Bento Gonçalves (RS). The research aimed to investigate the Enology groups profile in terms of citizenship, personal and professional formation, as well as their behavior and beliefs about environmental and society issues. Data were obtained through bibliographical research, participant observation and questionnaire application. A total of 49 students answered to the questions, 30 of them were in the first year of the course and the other 19 students were in the third year. The results showed that there is no way to work environmental education as a discipline because the fragmentation of such knowledge generates an election of levels of importance. It can be concluded that this subject should be taught interdisciplinarily in a way that it is emancipatory. The students should be aware of environmental impacts and know how to interfere in them positively. This is possibly the only way to build a new culture supported by knowledge and ethical behavior.
